Who AM I
"Who am I?
I'm Venus, your sassy Latina, originally from Brooklyn NY, that somehow morphed into a bodyworker, healer, and coach.
Wanna know how I got here?... Buckle up..."
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, during the late '70s and '80s, and let me tell you, I was definitely the oddball. While most people were blending in, I was the loner doing my own thing—my music, my style, my interests—they never quite lined up with the crowd. I wasn’t one to roll with the masses, but I did have a couple of friends who “got me.” I guess I’ve always marched to the beat of my own drum, even if that meant standing out. It's kind of funny looking back now at how different I was, but hey, someone had to be the outlier, right?
Fast forward to the early 2000s—married, divorced, and with three kids in tow, I found myself in Syracuse, NY. I started out working as a Pediatric Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist for a decade, but during that time, something unexpected happened. I was introduced to Reiki, and it was like a light bulb went off. I instantly fell in love with it—the energy, the peace, the potential for healing. I was so drawn to it that I dove in headfirst, studying Reiki and eventually earning my Master/Teacher certification. Along the way, I also became certified in Integrated Energy Therapy (IET).
But here’s the thing: not many people knew about energetic healing at the time, and I just knew this was the kind of work I wanted to do. So, at 41, I took a huge leap and enrolled in Massage Therapy school. It was overwhelming, to say the least. There were plenty of struggles along the way, but every challenge was worth it. I was on a mission to transform not only my life, but to help others in the most powerful way I could.
Looking back, it was the best decision I’ve ever made (aside from becoming a mom, of course). So here I am today, certified in multiple levels of energy work and a licensed massage therapist and esthetician. But then came the big question: what’s next? I knew I didn’t want to work for anyone else, but starting my own business? That was a whole new ballgame. But if there’s one thing I knew about myself—it’s that I dive in headfirst. So, I took the plunge, rented a space, and just went for it. I opened my doors in July 2017, and honestly, I’ve never looked back. Every challenge, every moment of doubt—it’s all been worth it.
Working with my post-op patients is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do! There’s also something truly special about using vibration and sound to help facilitate healing during energy sessions. Every bodywork session is uniquely tailored to the individual on my table.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people and making lasting friendships through this work. Honestly, I love what I do so much that I wouldn’t change a thing.
But here’s the exciting part: my next step is coaching! Stay tuned for my upcoming workshop—I'm beyond excited to see where this journey leads and how many more souls I can help along their own healing paths. The future is full of possibilities, and I can’t wait to continue growing and evolving.
